PBS 2010 Writing Contest for Kids (K-3)

"Hey, you guuuuys!" Who else, besides me, remembers that bellowing call of The Electric Company on PBS? I loved that show. . . and evidently, it's back and being used as a call to solicit submissions from your K - 3 writers and illustrators.

WCPSS is reporting in its "The Classroom Connection" newsletter, that 14 Wake County Magnet Schools have been notified by the Magnet Schools of America of their selection as Magnet Schools of Excellence or Magnet Schools of Distinction.

N.C. Accountability and Curriculum Reform Effort Proposes Changes to High School History Curriculum

Changes to North Carolina's history curriculum proposed by the state's Accountability and Curriculum Reform Effort (ACRE) would eliminate teaching American history prior to 1877 to high school students. The department says American history prior to 1877 will still be taught in the elementary and middle school grades, but would no longer be studied in its entirely in 11th grade.

PRINCESS KATIE AND RACER STEVE SHOW AT THE DPAC

THANK YOU TRIANGLE-TRACKS, FOR THE TICKETS TO THE SHOW "PRINCESS KATIE AND RACER STEVE".

WE HAD 3 FAMILIES THAT WENT, WHICH INCLUDED A RACER AND 2 PRINCESSES.

THE KIDS JUMPED AND SANG. THEY LOVED THE BIG RED HEART THAT BOUNCED @ TO "SHARE THE LOVE". THEY ALSO HAD A GOOD TIME WITH THE INFLATABLE SOCCER BALLS. THE SHOW WAS FAST PACED AND KEPT THEIR ATTENTION. WE (adults) ENJOYED IT AND EVEN DANCED.

AGAIN, THANKS FOR A WONDERFUL FAMILY

Pre-registration is Open for Wake County School System's Year-Round Community Engagement Meetings - Fifth Meeting Just Added
